SFTC Picks for Monday 5/13

1130 HJK- They just seem like the better team. The are currently in first place. I think worst case scenario for HJK is they play for a draw on the road. Confidence:2


1205 Cleveland Indians- These 2 teams will be playing a double header today. This will be game 1. Both of these teams are hot coming into this series. Masterson has pitched pretty well this year despite 1 bad outing. Phelps is a reliever who doesn't have too experience pitching a lot of innings. The only thing that scares about picking the Indians is Robinson Cano. Giradi said that he would most likely DH the first game which I think would allow him to focus more on his hitting. Cano is really the only hitter in the NY lineup that scares me. Confidence:4

245 Brighton and Hove Albion- Confidence:1

335 Cleveland Indians -This will be game 2 of the double header. You can read my prediction above for what I think will happen in the first game. Some things could change depending on the first game. But I like Bauer and think he is going to be a solid pitcher. I never heard of Nuno before. Confidence:3

400 Real Sociedad by 2- Real Sociedad lost a week ago to Getafe. You have to go back almost a year to find out the last time they lost. Think they bounce back strong at home. Confidence:2

705 Pittsburgh Pirates- Being a huge Pirate fan this is the kind of game that they lose. But they have improved over the past couple of years. The Brewers are 1-9 in their last 10 games. Estrada has really struggled recently but they gave him some extra days off. Burnett has been pretty consistent this year.
What worries me about this pick is McCutchen is the only Pirate who hits Estrada well despite the pirates getting 5 runs on him 2 weeks ago. Some of the Brewers hit Burnett well. I have to put this as pretty good pick based off of the Brewers struggles but I say pick with caution. Braun not in starting lineup tonight.  Confidence:5

705 Boston Bruins- I think they are the better team. They have to have a huge advantage being the home team. Confidence:3

707 Cardinals by 2- This is a tough pick since they don't have to win by 2. Lynn is hit or miss. But the Mets lineup is cold right now. Confidence:2

940 Oklahoma City Thunder- Memphis is really tough at home but I don't think Durant and Thunder can play poorly in 2 straight games. Confidence:2

940 Arizona Diamondbacks- Confidence:2

1005 Kansas City Royals- Both pitchers have not been good this year. Confidence:2

1005 Texas Rangers- Both pitchers are young and average at the moment. Give an edge to Texas because of their lineup. Confidence:3

1010 Washington Nationals- Zimmerman is one of the best in the game at the moment. Beckett has not pitched  that well this year. I think Beckett could pitch well tonight that is why I am hesitant on this pick and not making it more confident. Confidence:4
