The British Open will be taken place at Murfield. This will be the first time the Open is held there since 2002. Since it was in 2002 there are a few players in the field who have actually played there. This course will cause for a lot of problems for these golfers because of the winds, high rough and the harder greens. I think 1 guy to watch in this tournament will be Ernie Els. He won the tournament here in 2002 and won the British Open last year. As good as a golfer he is I just don't see him winning back to back years.

Here are my Top 10 golfers to win at Murfield this weekend:
1. Jason Dufner - Tied for 26
2. Padraig Harrington  - Tied for 54
3. Phil Mickelson - Winner

Some people have asked me to do this so I will. For those of you who don't know, I am a fantasy fanatic. Meaning if there is a fantasy game out there then there is a very good chance that I play it. I will be doing my four some prediction for each round as well as my prediction for each major tournament.

Masters

A Tradition Unlike Any Other
I think there are 3 major keys to winning this tournament: experience, how you play the greens, and dominating the par 5s. Which are some what similar and tie together. In order to get feel on how the greens work you need experience. The greens at Augusta are very tricky due to how fast some of them can be. But you cant just have experience on them you need to have success on them if you want to win.
The next thing that I think is huge is how you play the par 5s. I think this is what the tournament will ultimately come down to. The par 5s maybe your only chance to have a decent look at a birdie on the entire course because they are birdie holes everyday. That’s why the par 5s are critically important. Though they still require good drives and second shots or whether the golfer goes for the green or lays up to a favorable wedge yardage. But they ultimately come down to how you putt on them.  And this was a stat that I found about the Master's champion over the past 10 years. The average winning score over that span was 9.6 under par and the champions played the par 5s in 8.5 under, which means they made the bulk of their birdies on those holes.
Top 10 golfers to do well at Augusta
1 Phil Mickelson-   Tied for 54
2 Justin Rose  -  Tied for 25
3 Tiger Woods     -  Tied for 4
4 Brandt Snedeker   -  Tied for 6
5 Lee Westwood  - Tied for 8
6 Sergio Garcia  -  Tied for 8
7 Ian Poulter  -   MC
8 Padrig Harrington  - MC
9 Hunter Mahan  - MC
10 Adam Scott   -  Winner
My final prediction is Phil wins another green jacket. He always plays well here and I think his game matches extremely well on how to win here. I know everyone will probably say well.....what about Tiger....ever heard of him....best ever...Ya, I get it Tiger will go down as probably the best to ever play the game. I have him at 3 which isnt bad but I just feel like there is too much pressure on him. I think its a little much for all the attention he gets on every single shot.  I will be rooting for him as a Tiger fan, but for a fan who loves the game of golf I don't really want to see him win. I want to see someone who never won before get the green jacket or an underdog that nobody is talking about. And yes I am contradicting myself a little because Phil has a couple of green jackets. But I have read over a hundred of predictions for the Masters and asked about a hundred different people. I don't think I heard Phil mentioned once. So the way I see it is he is almost viewed as an underdog this weekend. But what a fun weekend it should be and how great would it be to see Tiger and Phil competing against each other on the final day.
This was a stat I found that I should be noted:Phil finally won his first Masters in 2004, and since hes won two more. As a professional though 2011 Mickelson played 18 Masters and finished in the Top 10 in 13 of them - and in the Top 5 in nine of them.
